Teacher Resources
The following are materials and websites that SOCG has found to be useful in the work of creating schools and communities of collaboration and cohesion. The use and implementation of these resources is up to the discretion of the visitor to the SOCG site.
Websites:
- United States Department of Education
A site with valuable materials and curricula addressing human relations issues nationwide. Also, a great source for grant announcements and funding sources.
http://www.ed.gov/
- California Department of Education
The mandatory bookmark for any educator in California. All SOCG programs are aligned to standards and initiatives found on this site.

- Teaching Tolerance (SPLC)
Founded in 1991 by the Southern Poverty Law Center, Teaching Tolerance is dedicated to reducing prejudice, improving intergroup relations and supporting equitable school experiences for our nation's children.
Teaching Tolerance provides free educational materials to teachers and other school practitioners in the U.S. and abroad. Their self-titled magazine is sent to 400,000 educators twice annually, in September and January, and tens of thousands of educators use their free curricular kits. More than 10,000 schools participate in our annual Mix It Up at Lunch Day program.
Web-exclusive offerings include downloadable curricula, other classroom activities and materials for youth and parents/guardians.

Museum of Tolerance (MOT)
A Los Angeles-based institution, the MOT is a “one of a kind museum” that serves as the epicenter for interaction and dialogue for K-16 students and faculty, law enforcement agencies, community organizations and international visitors.
Their site includes cutting-edge curricula that explore such issues as “the power of words” and “family and culture” that align to museum content but can also be used in any classroom.
